Crystal Of The Month - March

Crystal Of The Month - March

Back again with the Crystal of the Month for March!  Blog # 3, I’m becoming quite the expert at this.  I am stepping out of the norm for this month’s crystal.  We all know the birthstone for March is Aquamarine, a beautiful stone that varies in color from light blue green to deep blue.  Aquamarine is NOT my pick for the month of March.  Instead, my choice of crystal is BLOODSTONE, the second birthstone for the month of March. Bloodstone is a Jasper and typically comes in dark green with areas of red.  The red spots do resemble drops of blood and is absolutely where the stone derives its name.

This stone has many amazing attributes and spiritual qualities.  On the spiritual side of things, Bloodstone is considered a strong healing stone used to cleanse your lower Chakra.  If you’re feeling out of “alignment” this stone, which represents the heart Chakra, will help align the root and sacral chakra with the heart.

Not only can this stone help re-align your chakra, it is also protective, grounding, and great to help clear your space of negativity.  One thing to keep in mind, the more this stone aids in healing and protection, the more it will need to be cleansed.  Usually more often than other stones.

Fun fact, ancient Greeks used this stone to predict the future and, wait for it…Turn invisible.  Yes!  This stone was used in many supernatural practices.

I remember when I first started my journey into learning about stones, I didn’t know how many thousands of varieties lived with us.  I thought my world revolved around Rose Quartz, Amethyst, Crystal Quartz and Tigers Eye.  Crystal Quartz was the stone that opened my eyes to the understanding of what they can truly do.  I am a very analytical person, but once I learned about the actual power of the crystal quartz and how it was used to help synch our watches, I was forever convinced these so called “rocks” have special gifts they’ve received from the Earth, just like humans.  No, they don’t come equipped with the 5 senses, that is our gift.  They come with their own special gifts and uses, and we can all benefit from them.

So, what about you? What are your thoughts on Bloodstone?  There are so many things I didn’t cover in this small paragraph, but I could be here all day and right now, it’s time for me to get my dinner started.  As always, it’s been a pleasure and I would love to hear from you!
