Crystal of the month - February

Hello, Hello, Hello!! Back once again with blog number 2! Meaning the second blog I have EVER written!  As I said in my last blog, I'm going to post my pick for the crystal of the month every month.  This is just my personal pick, but if you have a personal pick for the month of your own, please feel free to share it in the comments, and let me know why it's your favorite! I'd also love your feedback on any of the stones I post.  Like I said before, I'm no expert, but I love to learn! So here we go...

Crystal Of The Month for February

AMETHYST

I think Amethyst is one of the first stones most of us learn about.  Probably one of the first stones we had in our collection.  Amethyst has a very long history and many spiritual and protective attributes.

You know this stone right off the bat by it's beautiful purple hues that range from very light lavender to deep purple. Purple is one of my favorite colors, so it stands to reason this would be another of my favorite stones.

Amethyst is a symbol of peace, serenity and temperance, but it is also a symbol of courage and strong relationships.  It's said, individuals born under this stone are very creative and spiritual. They are also said to be very passionate, yet at the same time humble and quiet. I know a few Aquarius, quiet...eeeh. Well let's put it this way, I know they don't back down when they are fighting for what they believe is right!

During my research of the Amethyst stone early in my venture, I found out a very interesting fact about the "origins" of this stone.  Did you know the word Amethyst literally means "not to intoxicate"?  I did not know that, and found it quite interesting.  As I said in the beginning of my blog, Amethyst has a very long history!  If you have a moment, check out the story Dionysus, the God of Wine (yes a God of WINE!! OMG) and see how Amethyst played a role, and who she was 😉.

So now it's time for you to share some interesting facts you may have about this beautifully amazing stone!  I left many out on purpose!

Cheers!
